The Bishop Epiphanius Scholarship Fund
Agora University is pleased to announce the establishment of the Bishop Epiphanius Scholarship Fund. His Grace Bishop Epiphanius was the President of the Advisory Board at Agora University, He was the abbot of St. Macarius Coptic Orthodox Monastery in Wadi Al-Natrun in Egypt. A Bishop who lived a fruitful and exemplary prayerful life, His Grace was also a leading expert on Coptic Studies and has various publications of the highest academic caliber. He also played a very important role in the ecumenical relations and education in the Coptic Orthodox Church. Bishop Epiphanius was violently killed on July 29, 2018 at the Monastery as he was on his way to attend the liturgy.
The Board of Trustees at Agora University decided to establish this scholarship fund to honor the person and the legacy of His Grace Bishop Epiphanius. The funds will be fully dedicated to students interested in pursuing graduate-level theological studies and will be merit-based. Criteria for the application and selection process will be published at a later date.
